Job description

Henlee Resourcing is working in partnership with this well respected and growing HR consultancy based in Swindon to recruit an experienced and proactive Senior HR Advisor on a permanent basis. The role is site based in Swindon (with parking) with some travel to London to suit client requirements.

Working as a trusted Advisor to a varied portfolio of clients, you’ll be the first point of contact, providing high quality and commercial HR advice and support, helping the clients navigate through HR processes to provide solutions to people problems. You will also be responsible for undertaking client project work as required.

What you’ll be doing / key activities:

  • First point of contact for the HR advice line service, ensuring accurate, timely and commercial HR advice and support for clients
  • Providing advice to clients on all aspects of HR, particularly employee relations matters, over the telephone and via email
  • Advising and managing on behalf of clients’ disciplinary issues, employee grievances, performance management, redundancies and TUPE
  • Creating and issuing documents that supports the specialist advice provided to clients
  • Delivering project work including staff surveys, salary benchmarking and managing client appraisals
  • Leading on-site (where necessary) with redundancy programmes and employee relations issues
  • Chair or support formal meetings with clients, including grievances, disciplinaries and appeals
  • Supporting and delivering training to clients, helping to develop and prepare training materials
  • Creating and updating client policies, procedures, and handbooks to ensure compliance with employment law and good HR practice

What we’re looking for / about you:

  • CIPD qualified / working towards or equivalent experience
  • Excellent and up to date UK employment law knowledge
  • Experience in managing a range of ER casework
  • Experience in leading formal processes, including grievances, disciplinaries and appeals
  • HR experience over various business sectors is desirable
  • Commercially aware of the needs of small businesses
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to organise own workload to meet targets and deadlines
  • Good MS Office skills – Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Happy to travel to client sites (London) on occasion / when and where applicable
